Two-time Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar’s arrest turned a sensation yesterday. More details about the murder case and how Sushil Kumar had been on run for the last 20 days are even more shocking.
Sushil Kumar had been on the run for 20 days after being accused of the murder of a fellow wrestler Sagar Rana (23) at Delhi’s Chhatrasal Stadium. Sushil reportedly had the whole incident of assault recorded to send fear across the wrestling circuit in Delhi.
According to the police, Sushil had asked his friend Prince to make the video while he and his associates attack the victims. He reportedly wanted to establish his fear in the wrestling community.
Sushil Kumar and his associates assaulted Sagar Rana and his two friends on May 4. All three were hospitalized and later Sagar Rana died of his injuries. Sushil Kumar along with his co-accused Ajay was arrested from outer Delhi’s Mundka area.
Sushil was sent to 6-day police custody. The Father of murdered wrestler Sagar Rana demanded severe punishment for Sushil Kumar.
Sushil Kumar had been evading arrest, crossed the borders of seven states and union territories during the last 15 days. He had been constantly changing his SIM cards in an effort to avoid arrest.
Sushil Kumar went to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand and stayed at an Ashram of a famous holy man.
