BCCI has finally decided to conduct the remainder of IPL 2021 in UAE. The decision was taken at The Special General Meeting (SGM) of the BCCI. The board’s vice-president Rajeev Shukla confirmed the same to ANI. BCCI also confirmed the same by posting a tweet on their official account.
The remaining games will be held in a window of September and October. According to the sources, BCCI took this decision keeping in mind the bad weather of India in the months of September and October. The exact dates are expected to be announced soon. The board also decided to seek more time for the International Cricket Council (ICC) to conduct the T20 World Cup in India. ICC is holding a meeting on June 1st to discuss the same.
BCCI will also speak to the foreign cricket boards regarding the availability of overseas players. It is being heard that the Australian players are available but there is uncertainty about the availability of New Zealand and England players.
There are 31 games remaining to be held in IPL 2021. It is already known that the tournament was suspended midway earlier this month as a few players inside the bubble were tested positive for the coronavirus.
