Relief To Students Flying Abroad; To Get Vaccine Jab

Published by

Every year lakhs of students travel abroad from India to pursue higher education. This lakhs has been reduced to thousands due to the pandemic but the situation is getting back yet at a slow pace. However another hurdle appeared for students in the form of vaccines.

Students who are about to fly overseas for the September start of academics are informed by almost all the universities across the globe to get vaccinated. But across many states including Telugu states, vaccines to 18 years above are being rolled out in a minimum number and slots for scheduling a vaccine are getting booked within minutes.

A student has brought this to the notice of KTR and the minister replied that he would take this to CM KCR’s notice. In the cabinet meeting, this was discussed and post the meeting KTR tweeted, “Cabinet has decided that Students going overseas for higher education will be given vaccination on priority so they can travel safely. Guidelines will be issued soon with details.”

This is a big relief for students and it could save their valuable time. The government is yet to roll out guidelines and students with all the valid documents are likely to be given priority for the vaccine.
