5 Things To Make Your WFH Easy For You

Published by

As we hit with two waves of the pandemic, we are now certain that work from home is not going away anytime soon. So, why not work from home like a boss? One of the hardest things for people to do in these unprecedented times is figuring out how to separate work life from personal life, Ergo, let us check out some of the tips to ease out the online-only environment.

Find A Right Corner:

Pick a place that has a lot of natural light and zero distractions. Make a small space at your home as your ideal office world where you can dedicate a desk and some peripherals that will be used only for work. To have a better work-life balance, it is crucial to have a cosy workspace. Also, the desk and chairs you choose should be ergonomic.

Fill In Workspace With Your Favourite Things:

Fill in your small work world with things that inspire you. A plant, a picture or a lamp.. which can help you with the built-up stress. Add some drama and colours to brighten your mood. Even a small attractive coffee mug can make a difference. Research links green to creativity and blue to productivity. Red appears to be good for detail orientation, but it can also reduce analytical thinking. Try choosing objects with these colours.

Stay Disciplined:

There is a secrete trick to make your work from home more effective and it’s called discipline. You need discipline when you move from office culture to work from home environment. When you work from home, no one is watching what you are doing. That does not mean you can wake up late, forget to take a bath, having an unhealthy breakfast, and staying lazy. Do quick 7 minutes workout to boost your immune system. This will pump your mood and you will not feel sleepy during work hours.

Take Sick Days:

When you are not well, take time off. People who work from home tend to take fewer sick days than office-based staff. If sick days are part of your compensation package, take the time you deserve. For your long-term wellness and productivity, it’s best to rest and get better so that you can get back to work at full capacity. Workers and employers need to be aware of the potential health risk of working through health conditions that require rest and time to recover.

Maintain Consistent Working Hours:

Try and keep a consistent schedule. It is much better for all your work calls to be over the same 3-hour span when you are in the right mindset to be more productive, efficient, and responsive. And it is much worse for your work calls to be scattered throughout the day, while you’re busy making food, cleaning, or trying to have some personal time to catch up on TV. Since you are working remotely from home, you are probably thinking that you have more spare time to do more work if needed. Well, stop thinking that way! If you overschedule yourself then you are taking away your personal time. Set strict hours of work and stay within those limits.
