After 63 days, New Covid-19 Cases Fall Below One Lakh

India has reported 86,498 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours and for the first time in 63 days the daily new infections have dropped below one lakh. April 5th was the last time when India reported below one lakh cases and exactly a month later i.e, on May 6th, India reported highest cases load of over 4 lakh.

There is a decline in the daily deaths too. 2123 people have breathed their last of Covid in the last 24 hours while the total death toll is 3,51,309.

Maharashtra continues to remain the biggest contributor of daily cases and on Monday, the state reported 10,219 new infections. The Telugu states are witnessing a downward trend too. Andhra has reported 4872 new cases while Telangana posted 1933 cases.

The overall active cases in India dropped below 15 Lakh and currently it stands at 13,03,702 and in the last 24 hours 1,82,282 people have recovered and discharged.

India’s vaccination drive continues to go at slow pace. 23,61,98,726 people were administered the vaccine.
