The 20-time Grand Slam Champion, Roger Federer suffered a shocking quarter-final exit to Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz. The Tennis legend exited Wimbledon in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, leaving fans in dilemma whether it is his last match at the Grand Slam. The Swiss star was comprehensively beaten in straight sets and Hurkacz pulls off what no one in the past could. Unprecedentedly, he beat Roger Federer 6-0 in a set at Wimbledon.

The 40-year-old Federer said that he is ‘unsure’ if he could appear at Wimbledon again as he walked off with the hope of playing again at the iconic tournament. After his defeat, as Federer was walking off the centre court, the audience gave him a standing ovation. The video on the same has been posted by Wimbledon’s official Twitter handle.

The video shows the crowd cheering and appreciating his work over the years as Federer leaves the court after his shocking quart. He said that he would like to continue playing, but there is always uncertainty considering his age. “I will talk with my team and go from there, see what I need to do to get in better shape and be more competitive,” said at a press conference.

After Federer’s shock exit from the Wimbledon. sports fraternity took to Twitter to react on the same. Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh tweeted “Go roger stay roger! #legend forever”. Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle tweeted “Has the sun set? It has been feared for a while but straight sets on the grass with a -0-6?”.

The match saw the swiss star being outplayed in the first set which Hurkacz won 6-3 in just 28 minutes. Federer regained in the second set and pushed the 24-year-old Polish opponent to a tie-breaker. Federer eventually lost the tie-break 3-4. In the final set, Hurkacz continued to seal a place in the semi-final with a thumping win over the legend. Hubert Hurkacz is the first player to beat Roger Federer in straight sets at Wimbledon in 19 years.
