VV Vinayak was once a star director who had directed top stars like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Prabhas, NTR and Ravi Teja. However, he has been going through a rough patch for the last few years, with his big budget films like Akhil and Alludu Seenu failing to set the cash registers ringing. Even Khaidi No.150’s box office success didn’t help him in any way.
With no top league hero available to work with, Vinayak had made a major career shift by turning hero. His debut film as a lead actor ‘Seenayya’ was launched a few months ago. But after wrapping up the first schedule, the project was stalled by producer Dil Raju since he was not fully convinced with the story. There’s a lot of confusion about whether Seenayya will be revived or not in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Vinayak has readied a script during the lockdown period. But again, no star hero is available to collaborate with Vinayak, as they all have finalised their next projects with other directors. This left Vinayak, the once highest paid director, now struggling to get his project materialise some way or the other.
