In this month of March, we are going to witness two big releases of Indian cinema. While Prabhas-starrer Radhe Shyam is all set to hit the screens on March 11, SS Rajamouli’s epic action-drama RRR is gearing up for the release on March 25.
There is huge anticipation around both these biggies. RRR and Radhe Shyam fall into completely different genres. Their box office performance depends on the star power of Prabhas and Rajamouli.
If we take Radhe Shyam, it is a love story that is set in the era of the 1970s and 1980s. It is directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, who is yet to make his mark in the industry. Generally, romantic dramas don’t appeal to the masses. The sole crowd pulling factor for this film is Prabhas, who enjoys pan-India stardom.
On the flip side, RRR banks on the popularity of both Rajamouli and its lead actors, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. All three of them are quite popular in South India. Coming to the North, the image of Rajamouli and his film Baahubali will draw audiences to the theatres.
Moreover, RRR is an action drama that will have all the commercial elements that are needed to appeal to mass audiences. Even the trailer got a terrific response and the expectations have skyrocketed already across the country.
In that way, RRR has an edge over Radhe Shyam. But we cannot ignore the latter because Prabhas pulled off sensational collections in North India even with a flop film like Saaho. So, all he needs is a good talk for his film to shatter the collections at the box office. We have to see which among these films will end up as the winner.
