Of late, the exorbitant ticket prices have made families stay away from the theatres in the Telugu states. Films like Acharya and Sarkaru Vaari Paata witnessed a heavy drop in theatre occupancies due to the increased ticket rates.
People are not showing interest in spending more than 1000 rupees to bring their families to the theatres. Instead, they are opting to watch films on OTT platforms after a few weeks.
The makers of F3 realized this fact and decided to screen the film with the government’s ticket rates in both the Telugu states. Producer Dil Raju confirmed the same in a specially-released video.
“We will not hike the rates for this movie. The tickets will be sold at government rates. Please visit theatres with your families and enjoy the film,” said Dil Raju in the video.
This is a very good move. If F3 manages to succeed at the box office with nominal ticket rates, then the other big films will also follow the same route. Hope that happens.
Directed by Anil Ravipudi, F3 features Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamannaah and Mehreen in the lead roles. It is all set to hit the screens on May 27.
