In recent times, ace producer Dil Raju has made some terrific deals for movies like Vakeel Saab with Amazon Prime Video. It has come to a position that if it is Raju’s movie, then it is going to be released on this OTT platform only. But it looks like, either the producer or the OTT platform is not happy with the other.
One of the most popular Telugu films of recent times on Amazon Prime Video is none other than “F2” which happens to be a runaway hit at the box office also. There are huge takers for this movie on the OTT platform also.
Now that Dil Raju has come up with “F3”, a franchisee sequel to the super hit movie, many thought that Amazon Prime would bring it soon. But then, the film is going to release this July 22nd on Netflix and SonyLIV. Well, what might have happened?
With Raju being that aggressive seller of Telugu movies to Amazon which are released quite early from the release date, and the producer making crores of profit from it, everyting went well with Amazon. But then, he put a brake to those plans, they say, which has upset Amazon now.
At the same time, Raju is said to have quoted huge money for F3 though it’s not a great commercial success at the box office, and Prime Video is not ready to flex that many bucks. But Netflix and SonyLIV are said to have offered a mind-blowing sharing deal, and Raju went towards it.
Anyway, OTT platforms have this habit of offering more money for the sequels of movies due to which we see the Spiderman series sequels on different apps. While Spiderman: Home Coming is on Hotstar, No Way Home is on Prime Video and Netflix, and Far From Home is acquired by Netflix.
