If you want to achieve something big in life, don’t go for marriage, this is film director Puri Jagannadh’s sincere advice to the youth. Citing an example, Puri said a prince could become Gautam Buddha only after he left his wife.
The ace director has been releasing some audio editions with his voiceover under ‘Puri Musings’ series for quite some time. In this, Puri selects some topic and voices his opinion on it. He spoke of many things in the series like comfort zone, friendship, etc.
The latest in the series is about marriage. In this, he says: “Marriages are nearing obliteration. If marriage was such a good thing, Lord Jesus would have got married 10 times. A man from a king’s family became Buddha only after he left his wife. If you have bigger aims and goals, do not opt for marriage. Do not tie the nuptial knot. If you want to loiter around the planet or are ambitious of something, do not paint your feet with ‘parani’. If you think you do not have that brains and that you would eat pakodis made by your wife while watching TV, then send your wedding card to me urgently. I will come and bless you. Intellectuals do not marry. All the married men fall on the feet of Babas who never get married. Heroines who get married do not have the same following as an unwedded heroine. So, better don’t restrict yourself by tying yourself with a rope,” said Puri in this edition of Puri Musings.
