Almost a year after the release of his last film, The Ghost, Akkineni Nagarjuna is likely to commence shooting for his next project. Though numerous speculations have been making rounds for the past few months, Nagarjuna maintained a stoic silence on what is in store for Akkineni fans. The ongoing suspense will come to an end in a few more days.
As per the latest reports, Nagarjuna’s next project will be formally announced on August 29th as a birthday treat. Nag will turn 64 this year and he is planning to make it a memorable one by announcing his future commitments. Reportedly, Nag will play the lead role in the Telugu remake of the Malayalam period drama ‘Porinju Mariam Jose’. Also, he will play a significant role in Dhanush – Sekhar Kammula film that was recently launched.
Nag initially considered launching writer Prasanna Kumar Bezawada as director. But, due to some creative differences, Nag decided to confine him as a script and dialogue writer for this film. Choreographer Vijay Binni is likely to wield the megaphone for this project. Sources revealed that Nag obtained the remake rights after knowing that Prasanna Kumar’s script is loosely inspired by the Porinju Mariam Jose.
It is also heard that Nag is impressed by the character penned by Sekhar Kammula in Dhanush’s film and agreed to come on board. He will simultaneously shoot for both of these projects.
Complete details about both these projects will be out on his birthday.
