The controversy surrounding Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan’s recent sexist remarks directed at star heroine Trisha Krishnan during a press meet is escalating, with each passing day intensifying the public outcry. Trisha, in response, has vehemently condemned his comments and declared her decision never to work with him again. Now, Megastar Chiranjeevi also responded to this controversy.
“My attention was drawn to some reprehensible comments made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan about Trisha. The comments are distasteful and disgusting not just for an Artiste but for any woman or girl. These comments must be condemned in the strongest words. They reek of perversion. I stand with @trishtrashers and every woman who has to be subject to such horrid comments,” tweeted Chiranjeevi.
However, Mansoor issued statement failed to include an apology, further fueling the controversy. The situation has now reached a new level with the intervention of the National Commission for Women (NCW).
In a significant move, the NCW has taken suo moto cognizance of the issue and directed the Tamil Nadu Director General of Police (DGP) to invoke IPC Section 509 B and other relevant laws against Mansoor Ali Khan for his offensive comments.
