The Bollywood film “Kill,” starring Lakshya and Raghav Juyal, has been a surprise hit, earning ₹11 crore in its first week despite facing competition from other releases. The film’s success has not gone unnoticed, with several young Telugu heroes expressing interest in remaking it.
There is no such thing as a storyline in “Kill” but the film is all about a two-hour train journey, where the protagonist ends up killing all the 40-50 dacoits who have boarded the train and harmed his girlfriend’s family. While the narrative is more like ‘Extraction’ movie kinds of, the film holds the interest from first to last. And now from Tollywood, two teams, one led by Sudhir Babu and another by Kiran Abbavaram, are said to have approached Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for the remake rights.
However, the Bollywood makers are now on the hunt for a hero whose fame and appeal can make the film successful not only in Telugu but also in Tamil and Malayalam markets. Interestingly, the film has also caught the attention of Hollywood, with a remake being planned by Chad Stahelski’s company, known for directing the John Wick series.
