Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule is the most-awaited film of this season. The movie is set for a grand worldwide release in pan-India languages on December 5. Meanwhile, the government of Telangana issued a notification, allowing the ticket hike and also permitting the special premiere screenings a day before the release (December 4).
As per the notification, special benefit shows will be held at 09:30 PM onwards on December 4 in all theatres (single screens and multiplexes) across Telangana with a hike in the rate of Rs. 800 (the rate is applicable for this show only). Also, additional shows will be held at 01:00 AM and 04:00 AM on 05/12/2024 in all theatres across Telangana with a hike in rates.
The hiked ticket rates are as follows: From Dec 5 to Dec 8, the rates will be increased to Rs.150. This will be followed by a reduced rate of Rs. 105 from Dec 9 to Dec 16. From Dec 17 to Dec 23, the rates will be hiked by Rs. 20. So, for the first four days, the average cost of the ticket at single screens will be Rs. 300-350. For Multiplexes and Imax theatres, the ticket rates will also see an increase. From Dec 5 to Dec 8, the rates will be set at Rs. 200. Later, from Dec 9 to Dec 16, the rates will be adjusted to Rs. 150.
Lastly, from Dec 17 to Dec 23, the rates will increase by Rs. 50. By these rates, the average cost of a multiplex ticket in the first four days will be around Rs. 400-450. The rates are quite high compared to the recent big releases, but the anticipation around the film is equally high.
However, the paid premieres on the previous day would affect the first-day collections for sure. So, only time will tell if this move will help the movie or not.
