Ever since Kingdom’s intense and gripping teaser dropped in February, the Vijay Deverakonda starrer has been a keenly awaited biggie in Tollywood. The teaser did tease fans with its mysterious and action-packed backdrop. Director Gowtam Tinnanuri has penned a period story that is rumoured to be exploring the Sri Lankan civil war.
And the latest we hear is that Vijay Deverakonda is leaving for Sri Lanka today for Kingdom’s next schedule. The Rowdy Star and the film’s crew will be filming a song over a period of five days in several locales of Sri Lanka. This schedule further adds strength to the rumours that the film is set against the Sri Lankan ethnic conflict.
In Kingdom, Vijay will reportedly be seen as a rebel who fights against the atrocities of the Sri Lankan army to protect his people. Whether or not the film will explore the LTTE ethnic conflict remains to be seen once Kingdom hits the silver screens on May 30th.
Kingdom marks Mr. Bachchan actress Bhagyashri Borse’s next Tollywood biggie. The film is being produced by Naga Vamsi under the Sithara Entertainments banner, and it will have a huge pan-Indian release this summer.
