Right after the union budget was announced earlier this week, Telangana CM KCR criticised the BJP led NDA government for its policies towards states and also on the budget allocations to various welfare schemes.
Calling the press, KCR added that the BJP is ignoring cooperative federalism thereby insulting the Constitution of India. KCR pitched for a new Constitution for the nation and this comment grabbed national attention.
The Telangana BJP and rest of the oppositions hit back at KCR for offending Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar who was the architect of Indian constitution. Reacting to KCR’s comments, AP minister took pot-shots at the TRS supremo.
“Some wicked intellectuals wanted a new Constitution. Wonder which chapter in the Constitution hurt them? The self-respect of the entire Dalit community is pained by such comments. A majority of the sanitation workers are Dalits and no other communities would like to work in such a profession. Dalits play a major role,” said AP Education minister Adimulapu Suresh.
The YCP minister made these comments at AP SC, ST Gazetted Officers’ Welfare Society diary inauguration event. But he did not comment anything on the union budget and also on the budget allocations to SCs and other minorities.
But KCR’s proposal for a new Constitution is receiving a lot of negative impressions. The Dalit leaders in TRS party are backing KCR’s comments while from BJP to BSP, they are unimpressed.
