AP Municipal Administration minister Botsa Satyanarayana made sensational comments that Hyderabad is the capital of the state till 2024 and probably Botsa commented so based on the clause included in AP Bifurcation Act 2014.
“Our government has to acknowledge the capital city and then a law should be officially brought to send it to Parliament. Only after the approval of the Parliament, the capital city comes into existence,” said Botsa.
Confusing his comments further Botsa added that Amaravati and Hyderabad are not the capitals of AP but the YCP government acknowledged Amaravati just as a Legislative Capital and not beyond it.
Botsa’s comments come in the wake of AP High Court’s verdict in favour of Amaravati and CRDA. Though the YCP government was upset with AP High Court’s judgement, CM Jagan is still contemplating to go ahead with his idea of ‘Three Capitals.’
On the ‘Three Capitals’ Botsa added that the Assembly sessions have just begun and they are scheduled till 31st of March and a lot can happen in between. Questioning the High Court judgement, Botsa asked did High Court anywhere stated that it opposed ‘Three Capitals’ and not to develop them?
“Assembly and Parliament have the authority to make laws at the behest of people’s interest. Unfortunately the court intervened and disobeyed the Constitution of India. I was surprised that the High Court opposed the government’s move to make laws and if that’s the case, where is the system here?” questioned Botsa.
Indirectly taking pot-shots at the High Court’s judgement, Botsa found it strange that nothing against the Constitution had happened. “Everyone has their own business to bother. Likewise, the Assembly has full powers to make laws and implement them,” added Botsa.
Criticising TDP, the YCP minister said, “Chandrababu’s party has no ideology and they take all the issues personally and create a myth to confuse the people and gain political sympathy out of it.
“TDP is good at selfish politics. The party has no ability to take collective decisions and stand on one common agenda. They make decisions in a split of a second and people never accept such decisions. People accept only broad-minded, far-sighted decisions that benefit them for a longer time,” remarked Botsa.
But Botsa’s comments on Hyderabad invited new debate. What was the reason behind dragging Hyderabad out of nowhere? Does YCP has other intentions on Hyderabad?
