Jana Sena… What’s The Target?

In recent past Jana Sena leaders oozed confidence that the party led by chief Pawan Kalyan will form the next government in Andhra Pradesh and this means power seems to be the only goal ahead of JSP. There is nothing wrong in anticipating such results and in fact all political parties in the country’s ultimate goal is to be in government.

Coming to Jana Sena, if they have to form the next government, what is the target? How many constituencies, the party is eyeing and does the party have winning capability candidates? These are some crucial questions and Jana Sena definitely needs to have clarity on its winning chances.

The ruling YCP has aimed at a big target. Recently CM Jagan met ministers, party leaders and regional coordinators. He said the YCP government is implementing many welfare schemes for the people and so it should sweep all the 175 Assembly constituencies. If the mark misses, Jagan said that the party should retain the same number as of 2019 i.e, 151 seats.

And about Telugu Desam’s target, the party wants to bounce back by winning at least 160 seats. That’s too ambitious given the party’s state of affairs yet the TDP is making strategies to win a minimum of 100 seats against all odds. From June, TDP will be launching their full attack on YCP and hopes to revive their fate.

To go past YCP and TDP, Jana Sena has a huge task. The comments of JSP’s top brass are not moving the leaders at the field level. The party doesn’t have in-charges in the constituencies and there are no booth committees at the zonal level.

Just having a strong will to form the next government isn’t enough and this common dialogue of ‘next government of Jana Sena’ will not fetch votes. If the party zeroes on specific target i.e, seats and working accordingly in the respective constituencies, the cadre will take care of the rest. But it’s all in the hands of Jana Sena chief Pawan as he is the deciding factor and decision maker.
