BJP-Janasena Candidate Will Be CM in 2024 – Somu Veerraju

Somu Veerraju, who took over the reigns of AP BJP in a dramatic way, attacked both TDP and YSR Congress Party. The new chief of BJP’s AP unit described YCP and TDP as the family enterprises run by two families respectively. Clarifying that he has neither enmity with Chandrababu Naidu nor friendship with YS Jagan, Somu Veerraju made it clear that he was angry and annoyed with Chandrababu only because he obstructed the growth of BJP in Andhra Pradesh.

Somu Veerraju said he is not going compromise with anyone on the interests of the BJP. He made it clear that he and his party will continue to highlight the drawbacks of the ruling YCP government and fight for the cause of people.

In a direct attack on CM Jagan, Somu Veerraju said, “Chandrababu couldn’t even build single capital Amaravati. How can Jagan build three capitals?” Talking about the religious conversions in the state, Somu Veerraju said BJP will fight tooth and nail against the conversions. “Whether it was YS Rajasekhar Reddy or it is YS Jagan, we’re against the religious conversions and we’ll fight whoever it is. Even if it’s God, we’ll fight against the conversions.”

Exuding confidence that BJP will strengthen the party in AP and emerge as a force to reckon, he stated that BJP and Janasena’s joint candidate will become the Chief Minister of AP in 2024. However, he quickly added that BJP’s central leadership will take a decision on it.

Expounding his entry into BJP and his family roots, Somu Veerraju said his father was a Communist leader. He however said got attracted to BJP due to its nationalist principles and has been sailing with the party. Started his association with the RSS right from school days at Rajahmundry, Somu Veerraju said he had worked in Vidyarthi Parishad, the student-wing affiliated to RSS.

After the formation of BJP in 1980, Somu Veerraju had served as secretary of Yuva Morcha, the youth-wing of BJP. And there was no looking back for him as he served in various positions in party and even served as the national committee member twice. In 2015, Somu Veerraju became MLC.
