Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has finally ended the suspense on his next political move. Announcing that he is resigning as an MLA, Komatireddy also quit the Congress party but he maintained stoic silence on joining BJP.
“I have been a true Congress soldier for the last twenty years. But the party did not recognise us. Instead people who criticised Sonia Gandhi were given top positions. Leaders who are in high positions are not taking over views to revive Congress in Telangana. It’s Congress and Sonia Gandhi who granted Telangana despite that the party failed to form a government and this is purely a lack of leadership,” said Komatireddy.
Indirectly criticising T-PCC chief Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy added that some leaders had poor financial background a few years back and now they own hundreds of crore. They even managed to get top positions in PCC using their money influence.
Revanth Reddy has reacted to Komatireddy’s resignation and added that the Munugode MLA was tempted by the contracts his company received from the BJP. “Congress party was the reason behind the growth of Komatireddy from a normal activist to an MLA. Simultaneously he financially benefited from being in Congress. But he is betraying the party and insulting Sonia Gandhi which is completely unacceptable,” said Revanth.
When asked why Komatireddy was not pacified, Revanth replied that when a person is trying to commit suicide, we would certainly stop him but we can’t be around him all the time. And Revanth seems to have a plan for the by-election once Komatireddy’s resignation is approved.
“On 5th of August, Congress party will host a widespread meeting with local leaders and cadre of Munugode. Leaders are free to take a call on which side they want to be but Congress has taken Munugode constituency prestigiously and we will prove what we are capable of,” stated Revanth.
Meanwhile, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is missing from the media light in the middle of his brother’s resignation and leaving Congress. Venkat Reddy’s reaction is something leaders within Congress are anticipating to see.
