Just three pages was the YCP’s 2019 election manifesto. Jagan pictured that the three page manifesto would cover everything for the people and the government employees. Not stopping here, Jagan promised to resolve the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) issue within a week after forming the government.
Perhaps for the first time, the YCP government accepted that the promise to resolve the CPS issue was made without having a thought in haste. AP Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana has been holding talks with employees unions for the past couple of days and he made it clear that it is not possible to abolish the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).
In the meeting with employees, Botsa made shocking comments that their party had hurriedly promised to cancel the CPS. He added that regularization of employees will be resolved by the end of this year.
This is not surprising because it’s the nature of politicians to promise everything before elections and forget after coming to power. AP government employees have been demanding to cancel the CPS but there is no respite for them.
The YCP government is continuously talking to employees so that they may not take any decision regarding going on strike which would severely affect the state’s financial position.
