American multinational investment bank and financial services company Goldman Sachs is all set to open its office at Hyderabad. The firm’s top executives have confirmed the development to state’s Industry & Commerce minister KT Ramarao during a video conference the other day. The company has taken the decision as part of its global expansion plan. The firm is going to offer about 500 jobs in the city.
After considering the parameters such as infrastructure, human resources, commercial properties availability and residences to employees at reasonable prices, the global investment bank has chosen Hyderabad for its expansion. Minister KTR welcomed the decision and thanked the top brass of Goldman for choosing Hyderabad. He assured complete support from the government.
KTR wrote, “Delighted to welcome one of the leading global investment banks, @GoldmanSachs to Hyderabad. Thanks to Goldman Sachs India leadership team Sanjoy Chatterjee, Chairman, Gunjan Samtani, MD & India Head, Ravi Krishnan, MD and Chief Administrative Officer, for choosing Hyderabad.’
With an annual income of 2.74 lakh crore, the company is spread in 16 countries and has over 6000 employees. Headquartered at New York, the leading global investment bank had set up its first unit in India’s Bangalore in 2004. Hyderabad’s office is going to be Goldman’s second office in India. The operations at Hyderabad office are expected to begin in the second-half of 2021.
