Telugu Desam Party has rejoined the NDA alliance after the successful round of talks between Chandrababu and BJP stalwarts came to an end recently. This generically brings doubts on why TDP quit NDA in 2018 and later joined the same outfit in 2024. Chandrababu Naidu took the responsibility of meticulously explaining the story behind this and here’s what he said.
“For sentimental reasons, I asked for special category status for Andhra Pradesh but this demand wasn’t met. So I differed with them back then. Except for this, I have no political or ideological differences with BJP.” Naidu explained the series of events related to TDP breaking up with NDA and eventually rejoining the same outfit.
About the burning topics like special status and Vizag Steel Plant privatisation, Naidu said he is requesting the NDA to compensate for these events and awaits the center’s response on this matter.
Naidu mentioned that the NDA did give special package to Andhra Pradesh while he was the CM and these funds were used to develop the backward areas. He claimed that Jagan couldn’t bring a single rupee from special package for AP which exposes his lacklustre performance. He expressed confidence that the TDP, JSP, and BJP alliance will definitely come to power and save the state from Jagan’s tyrant rule.
