Ever since Pawan Kalyan announced his candidature from Pithapuram for the MLA race, there has been discontent among Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers while Janasena supporters were surprised that their leader chose a new place where they don’t have a great Kapu voter base. When the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance gave Pawan the seat, it led to disappointment among TDP supporters, but TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu later joined the race to calm tensions.
However, Pawan didn’t just randomly choose Pithapuram without understanding the area. The Janasena party has been actively working on the ground, led by Tangella Uday Srinivas, who has been reporting on the constituency’s problems and issues. They have gained support from various communities, including over 650 fishermen from Konapapapeta, women and leaders from villages like Antharvedipeta and Bhogapuram, strengthening their grassroots presence.
Janasena has also supported protests by various groups, such as Municipal Outsourcing contract workers, Anganwadi workers, cyclone-affected farmers in Gorsa village, and the Bar Association against the Andhra Pradesh Land Owners 2022 Act. They have shown themselves to be a party that stands with the people, supporting spiritual activities in villages like Vannepudi, Mallaam, and Jaggayya Cheruvu, and distributing Ayodhya Ram Mandir ‘akshintalu’. They have also organized cricket tournaments for youth and gained significant support from villages like Durgada, B.Pathipadu, AK Mallavaram, SK Padu, Gorsa, Uppada, Chebrolu, and Tatiparthi.
With this groundwork and support from TDP cadres, Pawan Kalyan is aiming for a decisive victory in the constituency. Despite initial concerns about the Kapu voter base, Janasena’s efforts have made a significant impact.
