Caste Pulse: What’s Happening In AP?

There is no denying the fact that social engineering is going to play a very important role in the electoral trends in the upcoming AP elections. Likewise, the leading parties have devised their best possible social engineering plans and caste-wise ticket allocations to attract all sections of the voters. The discussion now is about the 29 SC reserved constituencies that could give a potential projection of the polling trends in Andhra Pradesh.

According to the latest survey done by People’s Pulse, the TDP+ alliance has gained considerably in these 29 SC constituencies that traditionally form YCP’s core vote bank.

The projected community-wise polling pattern that will be observed in these 29 constituencies, according to People’s Pulse, suggests that the TDP+ alliance is the benefactor.

Staggeringly 73% of the Kapu voters in these 29 SC reserved constituencies are siding with TDP-Janasena-BJP while only 25% are sticking with YSR Congress. If this trend is seen all across AP, then the game is sealed for the TDP alliance.

YCP’s traditional Reddy voters are sticking with their choice as 75% of them are still with Jagan’s party while the alliance has 24%. Kamma voters are clearly in support of TDP as 89% of them are likely to pick TDP while only 10% are with YCP.

Coming to the all-important BC voters, who are the deciding factors not just in these 29 reserved constituencies but all over AP, an impressive 60% are with the TDP+ alliance while 35% are with YCP.

There is a split in Madiga voters also as 54% are with the alliance while 40% are with YCP. 68% of Vysyas are with TDP while 25% are with YCP.

These are projected polling trends in the 29 reserved constituencies in AP, and this survey implies that the alliance is likely to sweep the majority of them, which could be a huge deal.
