It is an established fact that Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is accused in several disproportionate assets cases. The CBI and ED filed 20 chargesheets in these cases and they have been under investigation since 2012. In view of the extreme delay, the High Court and Supreme Court reprimanded the CBI court to carry on with it on a priority basis and deliver the judgment.
The Telangana High Court asked the CBI court to deliver the verdict on the case by the 30th of Apil in a new deadline. So, many thought the verdict would be delivered yesterday, 30 April, but nothing of this sort happened.
The CBI judge Ramesh Babu cited health complications reason for delaying the verdict. That’s not all, the honorable judge has been transferred to a new court. The new incoming judge will now have to hear these cases right from the first stage, meaning the investigation will go back to how things were in 2012.
The incoming judge will have to hear the 20 chargesheets filed by CBI, ED, and 130 discharge petitions that were filed by Jagan and Vijayasai Reddy right from the start. Essentially, after 12 years of investigation, the CBI and ED cases on Jagan are going back to ground zero.
