Andhra Pradesh always saw intense political campaigns but none of them thus far have been as problematic as the recent campaign in the state which is seeing a war-like situation. The JC-Peddireddy tussle in Tadipatri, the public fallouts in Palnadu, and the tense situation in Chandragiri have all cumulatively made this election campaign a hard-fought one.
But for those thinking that the storm has passed, the worst is yet to come, reported the Intelligence Department based on the assessment of the situation in AP.
Reportedly, the Intelligence Department has put AP Home Affairs on alert in view of the coming counting day in the state – 4th June. The report says AP must be kept on alert till 19 June as there are chances of riots breaking out after the arrival of the counting results.
It is further advised that the AP police department might even need to seek the help of the central security troops if needed. This message was carried in a clear manner to the SPs in the state and the clear instructions are to make sure that things don’t go out of hand on the counting day and in the subsequent period
