Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu sent signals that he could be more liberal with regard to dealing with government employees and also the opposition parties’ protests.
Naidu 4.0 is likely to be a refined regime with the TDP boss becoming more people-friendly and trying to be relevant and composed with the employees and higher officials in the government.
The TDP boss is known for his discipline and fast-paced work. He is more focused on future as he has a clear vision about the results and their benefit to the society.
During his previous regimes, he kept the higher officials on tenterhooks and insisted on their best performance.
Similarly, he is disinclined to agree with protests and dharnas. He believes that problems should be resolved in a peaceful manner. He used to comment that he would clip the wings of those heading and initiating protests. If employees were late for their jobs, there used to be pay cuts. He also used to insist that work should be completed on time.
However, in his current tenure, he is likely to ease out rules for the employees though he could be disciplined and ask his team to stick to the same rules.
When several employee organisations met him and urged him not to increase work pressure, Naidu replied that he too knows the problems of work pressure. However, he asked them to complete work on time.
Coming to the dharnas, Naidu himself took part in several protests during the last four years. He is likely to ensure that such situations do not arise.
Naidu would not issue warnings or be harsh with the employees in his current regime. There are signals that the public and officials would see a better version of Naidu in the coming days.
