Jagan Did More Damage To AP Than Bifurcation: Naidu

Over the last five years, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu had been repeatedly stating that YS Jagan destroyed the administrative and bureaucracy system in AP with his tyranny.

Now that Naidu is back in power, he has started to expose the reverse engineering steps taken by Jagan that ruined AP’s prospects in countless ways.

Today, Naidu briefed the media about the damage done by Jagan to the prestigious Polavaram project. He remarked that the project took more damage in the Jagan regime than during the highly agitated AP-Telangana bifurcation period.

Presenting the facts on the Polavaram project today, Naidu said the TDP government spent Rs 11,762 crore on Polavaram between 2014-19 while Jagan spent just Rs 4,167 crore.

It is to be understood that the Jagan government spent just 1/3rd of the expenditure on Polavaram as compared to TDP, while Jagan proudly claimed he would complete the project in his first tenure.

Coming to the civil works, as of May 2019, 71.93% of the overall works were completed, and coming to May 2024, only 75.77 works were completed.

Meaning, the Jagan government contributed less than 4% to the project in the last five years. Similar sluggish progress was seen in relocation and PIP Head works as well.

With Naidu exposing the previous Jagan government with bare facts and numbers, there is no defense mechanism left for the bygone YCP government, commented an analyst.
