Don’t Touch Feet: Naidu’s New Cultural Change

Chandrababu Naidu vowed to deliver resolute governance in his 4.0 tenure as the CM of AP and he is bringing in the necessary cosmetic changes to bring this to reality. This time, Babu has sought to bring a new cultural change in the TDP from the grassroots level.

In his latest media briefing, Naidu made it clear that he intends to put an end to the age-old tradition of seeking blessings by touching the feet.

While it is common for associates and party workers to touch Chandrababu’s feet to seek blessings and show respect, Babu has called to put an end to this tradition. He has asked any of his party workers or well-wishers not to touch his feet to show respect.

“From now on, if anyone touches my feet, I will touch their feet in reciprocal. I want to put an end to this tradition by any means. One must only touch the feet of their parents and god himself, but not politicians. I want to start this new trend by stopping party workers and the public from touching my feet.” Naidu remarked.

It is a common sight to see party cadres touch the feet of politicians to be in their good books. But Naidu is seeing this as a self-belittling act and has called to curb the same.
