Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched Deepam 2.0 at Eedupuram in the Icchapuram constituency on Friday.
After issuing the free LPG refills, Naidu prepared tea at the beneficiary’s house and shared it with other ministers and MPs who accompanied him.
Political leaders often engage in activities like making dosas or tea during campaigns to impress and connect with the public. However, this time, Naidu made tea while seeking guidance from the woman of the house on the appropriate amounts of tea powder and sugar to use.
By doing this, Naidu resonated with the beneficiaries of the LPG refills, sending the message that he is a people’s leader who understands the hardships faced by the less privileged and marginalized.
Without any airs of being the Chief Minister, Naidu entered the beneficiary’s kitchen, lit the stove—which lacked modern equipment like a kitchen hood—and mingled with the couple. He spoke to them in a friendly manner, attempting to ease the tension of having VIPs in their home. In a light-hearted mood, he even cracked jokes with Union Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu and others.
Although he doesn’t need to cook, the Chief Minister displayed his knowledge of tea preparation by pouring milk into the vessel sparingly. He also suggested that the woman use less sugar, considering that several leaders might have diabetic conditions.
Naidu inquired about the beneficiary’s family and directed officials to help provide employment for the woman’s daughter, who is a graduate.
He was accompanied by ministers K. Atchannaidu, Nadendla Manohar, Union Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, and others.
