Following the harrowing defeat in the 2024 election, the YSR Congress and its leaders are facing serious allegations. Several top-tier leaders, including MLAs and MLCs, have come under scrutiny for various anti-social activities. The latest addition to this already lengthy list is former minister in Jagan’s cabinet, Merugu Nagarjuna, who has been accused in a rape case.
A woman, who remains unnamed for privacy reasons, filed a police complaint at the Tadepalli Police Station last evening. She claims that the former YCP minister deceived her with promises of contract work and then assaulted her physically during the YCP’s tenure.
The woman alleges that Nagarjuna took Rs 90 lakh from her under the pretext of securing contract work. Shockingly, not only did he fail to provide the promised contracts, but he also allegedly assaulted her. In this context, she has now filed a rape case.
In response to the allegations, Merugu Nagarjuna has claimed his innocence, stating that he has nothing to do with the matter. He vowed to fight the case legally.
As legal proceedings commence, the ex-minister could face serious consequences if found guilty.
