After the onset of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, the assembly sessions have been progressing in a very composed and intellectual manner. In one instance today, deputy Speaker Raghu Rama Krishna Raju dropped an important message to the NDA MLAs.
Earlier, Kadapa MLA Madhavi spoke in the assembly and called for enhanced policing activities under Home Minister Anitha’s leadership.
Reacting to this, speaker RRR intervened and clarified the matter. RRR mentioned that it is not right to overwork the home minister with general law and order matters.
“The MLAs must first understand that it is well within their rights to oversee the policing activities in their constituencies. They can sit down with the local police authorities and monitor the developing situations locally. This will enhance the law and order system much more than general activity done by the home minister.” RRR commented.
The deputy speaker was very constructive and well-read about his message to the MLAs. He made it very clear that local policing done by the MLAs is far more than effective than these MLAs pressuring the home minister for consolidated action.
This is the kind of constructive behaviour that is expected from a deputy speaker and it is good to see RRR delivering on this front.
