Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu has made a significant announcement regarding a new initiative to be observed on the Third Saturday of every month.
Naidu declared that this day will be dedicated to the ‘Swachh Andhra Pradesh’ program, which will be celebrated across the state as a special event.
During the inaugural session of the collectors’ conference in Amaravati, Naidu revealed that every Third Saturday will now be observed as a day for cleanliness drives and sanitation-related activities.
As part of this initiative, Naidu emphasized that government officials, including collectors, should actively participate in the program by engaging in tasks such as waste removal, clearing of clogged drains, and taking part in various community cleanliness programs.
The Chief Minister further mentioned that a detailed plan for the initiative will be released soon, urging everyone in the administration to take responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring effective implementation of the program.
Naidu had previously implemented similar initiatives during his earlier tenure as Chief Minister, such as the ‘Swachh AP’ campaign, which was organized every Monday. With this new approach, Naidu is once again pushing for a sustained commitment to cleanliness at the state level.
As the Chief Minister prepares to launch the program, it is expected that this initiative will reignite efforts towards improving sanitation and fostering a sense of civic responsibility among both the public and government personnel.
The detailed plan for the ‘Swachh Andhra Pradesh’ initiative is anticipated to clarify how it will be integrated with the existing holiday schedules for public servants.
