A Triple Shock awaiting YS Jagan Today?

YSR Congress party led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was pushed into dire straits due to the massive defeat in the 2024 elections in the hands of NDA coalition formed by Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. Besides losing Opposition status due to the meagre number of 11 seats out of 175, the party has been facing existential crisis due to the en masse resignations and defections.

Having already witnessed a series of resignations in the last six months, Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party received another huge jolt today morning when two its former MLAs namely Avanthi Srinivas and Grandhi Srinivas announced their departure citing personal reasons. While Avanthi Srinivas served as a Minister in Jagan’s cabinet, Grandhi won against Pawan Kalyan in 2019. Both of them lost badly in 2024.

Even before recovering from the shock given by both these leaders, Jagan is likely to receive another massive set back in the form of the third resignation for the day as Dharmana Prasad Rao, former Revenue Minister during YSRCP government, is said to be leaving the party today evening.

Dharmana Prasad Rao is one the significant leaders from Srikakulam district. He served as MLA several times and also held different portfolios as a Minister in his political career. After suffering humiliating defeat in 2024 elections, Dharmana went into oblivion and didn’t attend any party related activities in these six months. This has left the cadre clueless and uncertain about his political future.

Reports suggest that Dharmana is likely to bid good-bye to YSR Congress party and take a call about his next step very soon. He will join the list of prominent leaders like Mopidevi Venkataramana, Alla Nani, Beeda Mastan Rao and Balineni Srinivas who called it quits for YSRCP after expressing deep dissatisfaction over Jagan Mohan Reddy and his way of handling the party affairs.

It will be very shocking for YSRCP as three notable leaders from three different regions decided to desert the party in a span of few hours. Indeed, it is going to be a triple shock for Jagan who has been maintaining all these days that he will make a strong comeback in the next polls.
