Babu Nailed Vision 2020, All Eyes on 2047 Now!

Telugu Desam Party president and four-time Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is widely regarded as one of the most progressive leaders in India. While he pioneered the digital revolution in the country back in the 90s, he also nurtured the vision document culture.

In 1999, Chandrababu announced the Vision 2020 document, which set the mission of having at least one software engineer in every family.

The “One Family, One Software Engineer” program, initiated by Babu, and the subsequent push for the IT industry, led to an IT boom in Hyderabad, and the results are evident today. The way Babu worked to bring IT companies to Hyderabad and fuel the industry’s growth is a case study in itself.

Fast forward to now, Chandrababu is back with another vision document, this time focusing on 2047. Yesterday, CM Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, along with other members of the Andhra Pradesh government, released the Swarna Andhra 2047 document. This vision aims to create a socially and economically sustainable Andhra Pradesh by the year 2047.

The launch of the Swarna Andhra 2047 Vision marks a transformative step for our state. It reflects the collective aspirations of our people and outlines a 10-point transformational plan, the Padi Sutralu, to guide our journey over the next 23 years.

On this occasion, Babu said, “Let’s all unite to transform Andhra Pradesh into a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047, with inclusive growth at its core.”

Back in 1999, when Babu announced his vision for 2020, certain people ridiculed and made fun of his ideology. But Chandrababu, being the reformative leader that he is, overcame all challenges and nurtured sustained growth in Andhra Pradesh, and the results are clear for everyone to see.

Now, with Vision 2047, Babu is back at it, rolling out the 10 fundamental principles behind the new vision. While the earlier motto was “One Family, One Software Engineer,” which paid off richly, the new focus is on the “One Family, One Entrepreneur” narrative.

The Vision 2047 document aims to cover all the bases for Andhra Pradesh, including social infrastructure, an IT boom, entrepreneurship development, and sustainability. At the age of 74, Babu’s desire to create a long-term plan for Andhra Pradesh over the next 23 years is unlike anything we have seen before.

Perhaps this drive and sense of social responsibility are what set Babu apart from other CMs and made him the longest-serving CM in the history of the Telugu states.
