Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan expressed his happiness over Andhra Pradesh’s tableau, which showcased Etikoppaka eco-friendly wooden toys, being adjudged the third-best among tableaux from across the nation at the 76th Republic Day celebrations. He thanked President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the state government. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Pawan Kalyan shared that the NDA coalition government in the state has been encouraging the cultivation of Ankudu trees, which are used in the manufacture of Etikoppaka toys.
Pawan Kalyan also mentioned that the Etikoppaka toys were included in the souvenirs presented to the guests at the event. The Deputy Chief Minister praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for selecting the unique wooden toys as the theme for Andhra Pradesh’s tableau at the 76th Republic Day celebrations.
Uttar Pradesh’s tableau, showcasing the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela, won the first prize, while Tripura’s tableau, designed on the theme ‘Eternal Reverence’, claimed the second prize, according to the Defence Ministry. The marching contingent of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles was chosen as the best among the three armed services.
In the central ministries and departments category, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs’ tableau was adjudged the best. Additionally, the Central Public Works Department parade, which presented ‘Jayati Jaya Mahabharata’, was awarded for its impactful performance.
The Defence Ministry revealed that three panels of judges were constituted to assess the performances of the marching contingents from security forces and tableaux from various states, union territories, and central government ministries and departments.
