For the smooth functioning of a state government, it is imperative that the chief minister is on good terms with the governor because it is the governor who approves public policy making and reformative changes proposed by the assembly. Luckily for KCR, he had a synchronous system with Narasimhan, the first governor of newly divided state back in 2012.
It can be noted that KCR was always maintaining a good relationship with the governor at that point, Narasimhan. There were multiple occasions of KCR meeting the governor, and getting things done his way during his time as the CM. This made KCR’s job much easier from 2014-19 before a hard hitting Tamilisai came along and became a tough nut to crack for him.
Incidentally, it appears that the KCR family is still looking to maintain cordial relationships with Narasimhan. Notably, Narasimhan had earlier met the KCR family a couple of times in recent years while he was in Hyderabad, even after resigning his governorship post.
And cut to now, KTR has exhibited the camaraderie with the former governor. KTR personally went to the residence of Narasimhan in Chennai, after having partaken in the anti-delimitation meeting in Chennai today. He took the occasion to call on the former governor.
Going by all these actions, it can be understood how much the KCR family values Narasimhan and vice versa. It is rare to see such extra-professional relationships between chief ministers and governors.
