YSRCP leader Devalla Revathi became the talk of the town after she was caught on camera physically assaulting an employee at the Kaza toll plaza when he demanded toll tax from the politician.
The onlookers filmed the high-handedness of Revathi, who is the chairman of the Vaddera Corporation, on their mobile phones. The video shared online shows Revanthi forcibly removing the barricade on the motorcycle lane, which prevents four-wheelers from accessing it. When the toll plaza employee resists her, Revanthi is seen grabbing him by the collar and slapping him, beating him.
Later, Revathi got into a heat argument with him and intimidated him before getting into her official vehicle. The YCP leader was passing through the toll plaza in Guntur in her SUV when the toll gate staffer refused to allow her pass through it without paying the tax. Revathi is the floor leader of Guntur Zilla Parishad.
As per the rules, lawmakers like MLAs, MLCs and MPs are exempted from paying the toll fee. Although her official vehicle has her designation imprinted boldly on it, the toll booth worker asked her for toll fee.
However, beating a toll booth worker and taking law into own hands is certainly not acceptable. Especially, public representatives need to be more responsible.
