Former MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar has been arrested by the Eluru police. Going into details, Chintamaneni had campaigned for TDP in B.Singavaram village on Wednesday night. But after his campaign, the TDP and ruling party cadre of the village clashed.
Though Chintamaneni has no direct involvement in this case, YSRCP cadre lodged a complaint against the TDP leader. On Thursday when Chintamaneni reached Madepalli village of Eluru mandal, the police stopped him and took him into their custody.
Fumed by the arrest of Chintamaneni, TDP cadre staged a protest. “Chintamaneni was nowhere involved in the last night clashes yet the police bowed down to the pressure of YSRCP government,” said a TDP leader.
This is not the first instant that Chintamaneni is facing arrests. He was detained on multiple occasions and ever since then he was maintaining a low profile.
