With the poll siren for the Tirupati Parliament seat, the ruling YSRCP has officially announced its candidate. AP CM YS Jagan has finalised his personal physiotherapist Dr. M. Gurumurthy for the by-elections.
However YSRCP insiders believed that Jagan would allot the ticket to late Balli Durga Prasad’s son Balli Kalyan Chakravarthy. But Kalyan was given an MLC seat and so Jagan paved way for a new candidate. Gurumurthy has a long association with CM Jagan. He walked with Jagan during his ‘Paadayatra’ as opposition leader.
TDP has finalised Panabaka Lakshmi long back while BJP is yet to announce a name. They are considering former IAS officer but a final call is yet to be taken. Jana Sena is extending its support to BJP.
The CPM party has also decided to contest the by-election. They have finalised Nellore Yadigiri.
Tirupati will go for polling on April 17th and the results will be declared on May 2nd.
