The ongoing fourth test match between Australia and India is progressing on a very intense note. Though the odds are heavily tilted in favour of Australia, due to a bad batting performance from India, the game is still not done yet, and there is scope for betterment on India’s behalf.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has been subject to intense criticism and booing by the Australian crowds. This intense backlash from the Australian crowd started after Kohli sledged 19-year Australian debutant Sam Konstas in the first innings.
Today, after Kohli got out in the second innings of the match, he was again treated very badly by the Australian crowds. They kept continuously booing him while he was walking out of the field towards the dressing room.
This is when something untoward happened as Kohli reacted to the booing while on his way to the changing room. While the crowd continued to boo him, he briefly got out from the tunnel after hearing something unacceptably provocative from the crowd. He is seen with a very angry demeanour during the altercation.
However, the management quickly intervened and pacified Kohli before sending him back into the dressing room. Else, there could have been an ugly incident here in the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Earlier in the day, Kohli spit a bubble gum in the general direction of the crowd after being booed all day, which instigated them further. Coming to the scoreboard, India is at 164-5 while chasing 474. Kohli got out on 36.
