It’s just the second day in the Indian Premier League and Sun Risers Hyderabad threw a tough target to Rajasthan Royals in their first match. SRH lost the toss and RR decided to bowl first. Pat Cummins-led SRH opened to a flying start. The situation was that it was raining fours and sixes at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket stadium in Hyderabad. Ishan Kishan who was sold to SRH this season scored a century in his first match for SRH.
Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head opened the game with a decent partnership. While Abhishek was out for 27 runs, Travis Head looked like scoring a century. However, he scored 67 off 31 balls. It was a delight to watch him put his best effort into the game.
Even though the wickets were falling, the SRH batters did not let it affect them. The local boy Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 30 but it was the first-timer Ishant Kishan for SRH to score a century. He developed a great partnership with Henrich Klaseen who also scored 34 runs.
Altogether in 20 overs, SRH put a dominating performance in the first innings by scoring 286 runs. It is a big target to chase down. We have to see how Rajasthan Royals will pull it off.
