In the 14th game of Indian Premier League, Gujarat Titans defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore. GT won the game by 8 wickets.

Toss:
GT won the toss and decided to bowl first.

First Innings:
Gujarat Titans invited RCB to bat first at the Chinnaswamy stadium. Although, it is their home ground, the key batsmen struggled in the middle. Salt, Kohli, Padikkal and Patidar failed to make an impression. At one point, RCB were 42/4. But, Livingstone scored a half century, and he got support from Jitesh Sharma and Tim David. Both of them scored 30+ to push the score to 169 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Gujarat Titans bowlers played well. Siraj took 3 wickets while Sai Kishore took 2 wickets. 169 would not be sufficient in a small stadium in Bangalore but RCB had to undergo this defeat.

Second Innings:
The second innings started a little slow for the first three overs. GT batsmen ensured to not lose wickets. Sai Sudarshan departed for 49, and he played well with consistency. He is one of the contenders for Orange Cap. After Sai Sudarshan departed, Jos Butler increased the pace at which he was playing. Rutherford also extended a great support in finishing the game.

In a nutshell:
RCB was continuing at the top of the table with two victories. But their success streak ended with this defeat. The team must revisit its strategy to score big runs on the board. GT’s bowlers displayed an amazing performance. Although it is a single loss, team RCB can work on its shortcomings and come back stronger. On the other hand, GT lost their last game but is back in the victory zone. They batted so well and it shows in how they ensured wickets did not fall early. They started slow but ended with a blast.

Scorecard:
RCB: 169/8 (20)
GT: 170/2 (17.5)
