In the 15th game of the Indian Premier League, Kolkata Knight Riders won against Sunrisers Hyderabad. KKR won the game by 80 runs.
Toss:
SRH won the toss and decided to bowl first.
First Innings:
SRH looked confident when they entered the middle. However, the absence of bowlers like Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan is evident. The KKR batters have done a fantastic job in scoring 200 in this game. It shows how weak the SRH’s bowling department was. Although the openers of KKR failed, Rahane, Raghuvanshi, Rinku Singh, and Venkatesh Iyer built partnerships. Venkatesh Iyer played a unique role in KKR, scoring 200. All the bowlers, including Cummins, could not deliver their best.
Second Innings:
It seemed like chasing 200 would be a cakewalk for Sunrisers since they have scored more than 200 many times. But it belongs to KKR today. Their amazing bowling display snatched the game away from SRH from the first over itself. Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Ishan Kishan departed for single digits. Nitish scored only 19 runs. Klaseen looked interesting in chasing the score but he did not get enough support. As the pressure kept building on the team, the SRH batters lost their wickets. Varun Chakravarthy and Vaibhav Arora took 3 wickets each. Russell, Harshit Rana, and Sunil Narine also ensured all-out SRH for 120 runs.
In a nutshell:
This is a straight third loss for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team is becoming weaker than ever with each passing game. Through their dressing room motivation scenes, the players are becoming overconfident, but their gameplay is absolutely unimpressive. The team looks only strong on the paper, and all the hyped players are not meeting their expectations. Bowlers like Shami, Harshit Patel, Simarjeet, Zeshan, and Mendis hardly made any impression. The SRH team needs a revamp. If not, they will be the first to be out of the tournament. Meanwhile, KKR made a strong comeback with an all-round performance in bowling and batting. Hope they continue the same.
Scorecard:
KKR: 200/6 (20)
SRH: 120/10 (16.4)
