It’s been eight weeks since the start of the web-series ‘House of Dragons’ which is a prequel to ‘Game of Thrones.’ The initial response from viewers is decent and just like ‘Game of Thrones’ it is slowly building up the emotions and drama.
On Sunday, the makers of the web-series dropped a new episode and it has an interesting fact to be known. This eight episode was directed by an Indian origin woman by the name Geeta Vasant Patel. Before ‘HOD’ Geeta directed a couple of mainstream films and her debut being ‘Project Kashmir.’ With her brother Ravi Patel, Geeta directed ‘Meet The Patels’. She even received an Emmy nomination in her filmy career.
Coming to episode eight of ‘HOD’ it is touted to be the most emotionally driven episode and Geeta handled it efficiently. In this very episode, King Viserys Targaryen passes away, setting up more drama for the next couple of episodes. Before King Viserys dies, Rhaenyra returns to her father after six long years and she is in a spot of bother. King Viserys saves her from a crisis situation and the emotions take centre stage.
Geetha was also part of ‘The Fast and the Furious’ franchise and Blue Crush, with Disney and a couple more to her credits. Good to know that Indian origin filmmakers are making their mark internationally.
