After Rhea Chakraborty’s arrest last month, once again the #MeToo movement made it to the headlines. Actress Payal Ghosh made sensational allegations against Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap. Payal even dragged a couple of heroines’ names including Richa Chadha.
Following this Anurag and Richa have served legal notices to Payal. The twist in tale came here as Richa’s petition came for hearing on Wednesday and it seems Payal had changed her mind. Her lawyer argued before the court that Payal is ready to withdraw her comments against Richa Chadda and even to say sorry for her comments that were made ‘innocently’.
Reportedly, Justice A K Menon had asked if Payal Ghosh was ready to apologize and withdraw the statement and Advocate Nitin Satpute who represented Payal Ghosh said his client accepted the request. Payal is reportedly ready to settle the matter with an apology and statement withdrawl.
This is shocking that Payal has to go back on her words and now doubts arise on her allegations. Did she make these accusations for sensationalism or are they true, is something to be probed. Earlier Payal met Maharashtra Governor and then the Mumbai Police initiated a probe and even questioned Anurag Kashyap.
On the otherside, Payal Ghosh tweets she is not apologizing to anyone. Payal also says she has nothing to do with Ms Chadda and her fight for justice is against only Anurag Kashyap.
