HYD Airport To Launch E-Boarding System For International Passengers

GMR-led Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has become the first airport to declare the launch of end-to-end paperless e-boarding for international flights. GMR announced it on Tuesday that it is going to be the first airport in India to advance such facility.

As per the reports, the service is soon accessible for opting the International Flights of indigo Airlines. The airport has rolled out its E-boarding services for international flights after the government’s approval on a rigorous and thriving pilot.

Reportedly, IndiGo Airlines became the bellwether carrier to kickstart this service by flying Sharjah-bound passengers from Hyderabad on the 6E 1405 flight on October 2.

The scheduled international carriers which are operating out of Hyderabad are lined-up to be integrated with the airport’s e-boarding system, due to be rolled out soon”, The airport operator GHIAL said.

Hyderabad International Airport operated live for its domestic e-boarding facility in December 2015, it drives to be the first only airport in India to advance fairly e-boarding services to all its domestic passengers of all flights.

Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GHIAL said that “In the current state of the coronavirus pandemic, automating the passenger journey gives more relaxing airport experience. Following the success of the pilot project and all regulatory approvals, we have used our internal capabilities to take up e-boarding solution for international operations. ” He assured that very soon they will get all international carriers operating out of Hyderabad onto their e-boarding platform. He added.

The e-boarding system can be the best solution, and it is fully flexible for the passengers to choose between using standard paper boarding passes, or the electronic boarding passes with one tap.

International e-boarding provides various benefits like overcoming queues at the airports, excluding redundancies at checkpoints. It helps airlines to optimise their modes and improve their resource utilisation.
