WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio Jr’s uncle and famous Mexican wrestler Rey Misterio Sr has died at the age of 66. The family members have confirmed the same yesterday. The demise of Rey Mysterio Sr has left the wrestling community in a big shock.
Rey Misterio Sr gained fame in the Lucha Libre scene in Mexico. Lucha Libre is a Mexican professional wrestling team known for its colourfully masked performers and aerial moves.
Rey Misterio Sr earned multiple championship titles from the World Wrestling Association and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. He participated in several wrestling events across the world, which included World Championship Wrestling’s Starrcade in 1990.
Rey Misterio Sr is famous for his flying style kicks which would keep the opponent dusted to ground in no time.
Lucha Libre AAA wrestling association has posted their condolences on X. The translated post read, “We regret the sensitive death of Miguel Angel Lopez Dias, known as Rey Mysterio Sr. We send our most sincere condolences to his loved ones and raise our prayers to heaven for his eternal rest.”
